Today, our church acknowledges the lifelong dedication of two kindhearted women in our congregation, Linda Janowitz and Mavis O’Rourke, with the David P. Hegg II Lifetime Achievement Award.

Linda Janowitz
Linda has been a member of Transfiguration/Good Shepherd for over forty years. During that time Linda has participated in or led a variety of ministries. She has been a Worship leader contributing as a Lay Reader and Eucharistic Minister. Linda was an integral part of our Church School program, a participant in the diocesan Heifer Project and our CROP Walk coordinator. More recently, Linda has participated in our Prayer Shawl ministry, Thrift Shop volunteer, Grains of Hope volunteer and a bookkeeper for our thrift shop. |
Mavis O’Rourke
Mavis has been a member of Transfiguration/Good Shepherd for over fifty years. During that time she has been involved in many church activities and ministries. She been an integral part of the Altar Guild, while also contributing as a Lay Reader, and Eucharistic Minister. She has also volunteered in many outreach activities including Prayer Shawl ministry, Thrift Shop volunteer, Assistant Treasurer, and Bookkeeper for our thrift shop. Mavis has also coordinated our Annual Parish Audit. |
This award recognizes long-standing, active parishioners who have made lasting contributions to their congregations and local communities. Our parish community is grateful to both Linda and Mavis for their dedication and countless hours they have given to our parish.

The Collect:
O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
